About SAKSHAM

Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, SAKSHAM (Student Assessment for Knowledge, Skills & Holistic Competency-based Achievement Mapping) is Anugola district's initiative to strengthen school education through competency-based assessment and evidence-based decision-making.

The initiative began with a district-wide, standardised assessment of 28,079 students in Classes 5 and 8 across all 1,361 government schools. By assessing every school, SAKSHAM establishes a district-wide baseline of student learning, measuring students' skills and conceptual understanding rather than rote memorisation.

The assessment findings are published as aggregated Report Cards at the school, block, and district levels. When parents, schools, and education officials have a shared understanding of students' learning outcomes, they can collectively identify gaps, take informed action, and work together to improve learning across the education system.
